Not as much as I would've struggled in the past but I struggled nonetheless.   I stopped taking the HCG drops middle of last week and will start again after the new year.  My goal this week is to not gain anything as I prepare for a great 2011.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Today I'm doing an apple cleanse.  That's where I eat only apples through the day with lots of water.  It helps clean out the body of toxins.  If anything, I'll have a piece of fish tonight.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I will eat regular tomorrow...I need strength for out-patient surgery on Wednesday and the recovery on Thursday. After getting down to 243 this past weekend, I had my momentary lapse of judgement and ate way too much Sunday afternoon.  Now I'm sitting at 247 and find it hard to see losing 7 pounds by Christmas day. Is was like I was starving.  I haven't felt that way in a long time.  So I gave in and had pop tarts, a sub from Dominos and two pieces of pizza.  Later I felt sick.  I ate way too much.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A different time in my life I would have done all that and more.  Now, the feeling I felt after doing that is more than enough to keep me from doing it again...or least for a very long time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Might be a defense thing to keep me honest over the next week with Christmas events.  I have a staff lunch coming up this week, a Christmas party at a clients business, a family Christmas Tuesday night and Christmas weekend.  A lot of temptations await me this week.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today I'm bringing a salad and an apple for lunch. It's sure is nice to see the weight slowly come off...a half a pound to a pound and a half a day.  On top of that, I've not been hungry...sometimes even feeling full before I finish my salad.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Speaking of salad...a large bowl of leaf lettuce, iceberg, spinach and baby greens with a sliced tomato, some cucumbers and onion with Walden Farms dressing is less than 100 calories and very filling.  Through in a 4 ounce chicken breast and you've got a tasty meal that will fill you up and about 220 calories.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm doing this or something similar every day for Lunch and Dinner.  I also snack on an apple or two a day. I thought it kinda of funny...poking humor at myself in the process.  However, I'm worried that my Mom, when she reads it, won't find the humor.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I must say right here, right now that I have never considered myself to be fat.  Maybe that's just my way of justifying the amount of weight I gained over the years.  I know I've buried some feeling deep down due to the weight issues I've dealt with.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Losing weight is more than eating healthier, exercising, and changing habits.  It's about facing lots of issues that may have contributed to over-eating.  Emotional eating was something that I know I did way to much of.  I work hard on having fruits or veggies around when a craving hits.  I also need to be aware of enablers.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Enablers are those that offer food or sweets and then act as if you've hurt their feeling by not trying a bite.  I tend to think some don't want me to lose weight because one of the things they could feel good about themselves is when they compared themselves to me...weight wise.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Anyway...new title. The lowest I've seen the scale say in more than 15 years.  If things stay on track, I should see 240 before Christmas.  Maybe even 235.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Today I'm wearing a sweater that was bought Christmas 2006.  It's a triple X Large.  It's wayto big for me.  In fact when I was fitted for a tux shirt recently I ended up with an XL.  Big change from wearing 2x and 3x shirts for the past 10+ years.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Even with this weight loss over the past couple of years, I'm still in the obese category.  I'd like to be just over-weight and not obese.  So here's a few goals I'm setting forth today...&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Weight by Christmas: 240&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Weight by New years: 235&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Weight by Valentines:&lt;span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;220&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Weight by Easter: 205&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Weight by Mother's Day: 190 &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;It's hard to imagine being below 200 pounds.  With saying that it was also hard to imagine being 250 again.  It was hard to imagine fitting into clothes that I haven't worn in more than 10 years. Things have be going really well.  This morning's weigh in was 248.  My next goal is to be below 240 before Christmas and to be at 230 by the first week of January.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;My appetite has been good...not getting hungry and doing really well with the smaller portions.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Today I had a small salad with sugar free and fat free Italian Dressing with lean turkey meat and some water.  Dinner will be be grilled tilapia with a small salad and some water.  The only 2 things I'm doing that isn't part of this program is chewing sugar free gum and drinking Pepsi Max or Coke Zero for my caffeine fix.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;When I started this I was 297 and I've been as low as 247.  I normally gain 2-5 pounds back while I work on maintaining.  I will continue to do this program until I'm below 200 lbs. My wife and kids leave the house about 7am during the school year (my wife's a teacher) so I would work out from 7-7:30 and then shower and get ready for work.  When the kids are home in the summer, getting the Wii workout in just doesn't work. That's slightly more than 50 pounds since I began the program back in May.  I thought I would be satisfied with 50 pounds lost. I held that weight for more than a year before I started creeping up again to the 297 pounds I weighed when I started my new program.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Well this morning I weighed in at 261.8 pounds.  My goal now is to get below 250 with trying to hold steady at 240. Because of being on vacation with the kids and knowing it will be more difficult to keep focused on the program, I've suspended it for this week.  Actually I suspended it as of Saturday.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;It doesn't mean I'm eating everything in sight or I'm eating a bunch of high calorie foods.  I'm simply going to not be as strict.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Last night, after Disc Golf league, I went for pizza with the club.  I opted for two slices of sausage, a salad and diet coke.  Shortly after we got done and I was on my way home I realized I wasn't feeling well as all.  I realized I have over-eaten.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Several months ago two slices and a salad would've not been enough.  Now it's too much.  Not only is my appetite less my stomach is smaller.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I just need to make sure I continue to listen to my body.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;What did Sheldon Kopp say?  I think he said, "the key to happiness is to eat when you're hunger and sleep when you're tired." Yesterday's weigh in was 268.0.  The lowest in more than a year.  It felt good.  Yesterday I took a vacation day and went to Atlanta with my wife and kids.  So I didn't keep to my program as well as I should have.  &lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;We stopped at Mayfield Dairy and I had a scoop of no sugar added ice cream.  Later we had dinner at Ruby Tuesdays.  I ate turkey mini burgers so that included the bread.  I also have a salad with regular dressing.  At the Braves game I snacked with the boys on some trail mix.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Needless to say, this morning's weigh in was 271. I Sunday morning I weighed in at 269.2 while this morning I weighed in at 270.8.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I ended up hiking Friday and Saturday at Chattooga Belle Farm.  The loop we hike is 2 to 3 miles and the last 1,500 feet is uphill.  I knew those hiking trips would see some calories burn.  On Sunday I stayed home and snacked on a couple of handfuls of cashews.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Anyway...I think I'm on track with this cleansing program right now.  Today I have homemade chicken/turkey sausage.  We bought ground turkey and chicken Saturday.  I mixed that with garlic and minced onion with some red pepper.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I started with apple and banana for the morning.  Lunch will be a salad with the chicken sausage. Dinner will be chicken sausage only. A bigger drop from yesterday's drop.  Probably because I hiked several miles at Chattooga Bell Farm.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The GODG Design Team finalized the layout of the new 18 hole Disc Golf course.  The course will play about 6,500' with transitions making the total length you'll walk about 12,000'.  Add the elevation change and it was quite the hike.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also eating lots of Bok Choi with my salads. A small decrease in weight compared to what we've seen so far. We'll be laying out the final design of the Disc Golf course at the farm and will probable walk three to four miles in the 90 degree + heat. A slight decrease from yesterday.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;My wife and I are both doing this program but have altered our diet slightly from the suggestions. We're adding more varieties of fruits and veggies than is suggested or recommended in the program guidelines.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Fruits and veggies that we've added include bananas, peppers, plums, peaches and broccoli.  We've also found Crystal Light icicles.  No sugar.  Very low calories. I agree, maintaining is the hard part.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I kept a consistent weight for most of my 20's.  When I married at 31, I started playing less golf (I walked the course several times a week) and started eating more (I married a Southern girl who knows how to cook) which lead to weight gain.  I don't blame anyone but myself.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;When I was single my diet may not have been as healthy as it could've been but it wasn't high in calories and I was more active.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I've been working on being more active again.  I'm back to playing disc golf regularly and work out on the Wii Fit Plus Balance Board a couple of times a week.  I've also started hiking some.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I sometimes think people work against those of us that are over weight. Down almost four pounds.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I received a comment from a friend on yesterday's post about be skeptical of programs such as this one where you lose weight quickly.  I understand the concern.  I've seen studies on these type of programs and understand they have a certain amount of risk.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;When I did my protein program beginning in December of 2006 I was able to go from 320 to 260 and was able to maintain it through mid 2009 when I just became unfocused.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;For those of us that have suffered from being overweight and have tried things that have been successful and things that haven't been, it might be hard for those that have never dealt with weight struggles to understand.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;While they're are risks to doing dramatic weight loss programs, there is also a risk with being overweight and obese. I first did three weeks starting on Mother's Day.  I then took three weeks off.  I started again this weekend with the gorging and now, today, will begin the program in earnest.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I went from 297 to 273 the first time through.  After gorging this weekend I weighed 280.2 pounds this morning.  Right now I'm having an apple with water for breakfast.  I have a salad for lunch and I plan on going by Chick-fil-A to pick up two grilled chicken breasts later this morning.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;This time through I will be going the full 42 days with plans on getting my weight below 250. I didn't even turn the computer on at home Sunday or Monday so no post.  I'm now off of the program and so far holding my own.  I've gained a half pound since Friday.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I got a question from my Mom about going back to a regular diet.  We're (my wife and I) are still limiting the amount of what we eat and keep the refined sugar intake to nil.  We're eating lots of greens and fruits and veggies.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I'll continue to post and to update.  Next week I'm going to start back on protein shakes for at least one meal, may two meals per day. This morning's weight was 274.6.  That's 23 pounds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yesterday I did the one day cleanse the program suggests...I ate only apples.  I had four and a half apples through out the day and probably 2 gallons of water.  It kicked started the weight loss again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Friday marks three weeks.  The minimum of the program is 3-weeks with a max of 6-weeks.  I'm still not sure if I'll continue another couple of weeks or if I'll end. A small increase.  The first such increase since I began.  A little discouraging but not devastating.  &lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I think it might be because I napped yesterday until about 4pm and had lunch and then dinner only two hours later and drank way to much water and sugar free lemonade.   &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I did work out yesterday morning and plan a workout tonight and again tomorrow morning.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;My three-week minimum is over this Friday. My smallest decrease in weight since I began the program.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Last this afternoon my wife and I went to Bloom Grocery store.  They have a regular butcher type shop and a large variety of sugar free and fat free salad dressings.  We were able to buy meat portioned out and some salad dressings that should work well with our program.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Last night I bought 99% lean ground chicken and made chicken burgers.  I had one last night then again today for lunch.  Decent but not great.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The program I'm on HCG Drops. Only side effect so far?  No interest in food.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I have, however, realized that when I do eat lunch and dinner that I need something with more taste.  My wife and I have been grilling 93% lean ground beef, boneless &amp;amp; skinless chicken breast, and different kinds of fish.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The other day someone gave my wife a cook book designed for this program and she made buffalo chicken.  It was fabulous! My morning weight was 279.8.  Just under 280 pounds.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Years ago when I weighed 330 pounds I was living in Iowa.  I started my protein program where I went protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and then had a moderate portion of a meat with veggies for dinner.  No snacking.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;When I moved to Iowa from Georgia, I weighed about 310.  When I came back 11 months later (to South Carolina but working for the same company as before in Georgia) I weighed 280.  Everyone marveled at how much weight I had lost.  I ended up losing another 30 pounds before settling in at 262.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The past 6 to 9 nine months is when my program went to pot.  I'm back on track with my HCG Drops and my diet.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Almost twenty pounds in less that two weeks.  I'm not hungry.  I don't feel week.  I'm not tired. I have energy.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I think either program I've used will work for most anyone.  Before you begin a weight loss program make sure you're mentally ready.  I think the mental state is very important before you begin. I was down another 1.2 pounds this morning.  My weight is now 282.8 pounds.  Fifteen pounds in the last week and a half.  I think my goal should be to get to 260 before taking the six weeks off before starting again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;260 is what I held at for a several years when I went straight protein shakes for two meals everyday and what ever the family was having for dinner.  I didn't snack or eat much else.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We're on a good path.  I'm bored, however, with the selections.  I need to buy some more herds and look for other lean meats.  I've been eating lean ground beef and chicken.  It's time for a change in meats. Made bigger burgers than we thought.  No buns allowed but tomato, onion and yellow mustard are allowed...as is any kind of salad.  We also can eat an apple a day and strawberries.  Once we complete phase one (3-6 weeks) we can increase what we eat with limiting anything with refined sugar...much like the South Beach diet.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So far we've eaten a lot of chicken, a fair amount of fish and some lean ground beef.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The diet is limited to lean meats and salad.  It is getting a bit boring so I do wonder if the limited diet will begin to take its toll. Last Sunday I weighed in at 297.8.  This morning I weighed in at 285.6.  That's the weight I've lost since last Sunday.  Thirteen pounds in a week.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don't feel hungry.  I don't crave food.  I'm more aware (I used to think this way in the past) that eating is more related to moods that actual hunger.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm continuing with Wii Fitness Plus Balance Board workouts 5 times a week and playing Disc Golf as often as I can. Down another pound.  Down 11 pounds since Sunday.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Lunch yesterday was a 4 ounce chicken breast with romaine salad with tomatoes and a yellow mustard/apple cider vinegar homemade dressing with water to drink.  Dinner was a 4 ounce salmon grilled with a romaine salad - same salad I had with lunch.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I've been eating an apple in the morning and strawberries at night but did not have either yesterday.  Today I've brought an apple to work with me but will only eat it if I feel my sugar levels dropping or lunch doesn't do the trick.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;This new program is interesting.  I don't have an interest in food.  Last night while eating dinner I was so not interested in eating I had only half my salad and had to force my self to eat the 4 ounce chicken breast.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;The program I'm working is HCG Weight Loss. When I first got up and stepped on the scale I was 290.0.  Way to high...for the program I'm on.  I then got the kids ready for school with breakfast and helping them get dressed.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I then did a few other things...like preparing my salad and chicken for the day and filling up my blender bottles with water and ice.  Then I went back and measured again...this time after using the restroom.  My weight then?  288.0.  Much, much better.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I'll talk more about this program in a couple of days. I weighed in at 291.8 lbs. Not bad considering on Sunday morning's weigh in I was 297.6.  Losing six pounds since Sunday morning is exciting.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I feel great.  I'm not hungry at all.  This program is designed to train your body to use fat stored in your body for fuel.  It's a process that can take 3 to 6 weeks. When I stepped on the scale this morning I weighed in at 296.8 pounds.  That's not bad for day four.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Today I had a medium sized apple for breakfast with lemon water.  For lunch I had a broiled chicken breast in a lettuce salad (iceberg) with a Apple Cider Vinegar/Yellow Mustard homemade salad dressing.  I drank, more lemon water, with lunch.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;So far, that's been it today.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Dinner will be a salad again, but this time, it will include tomatoes, cucumbers and onion.  The chicken breast will be broiler again with lemon juice to add some flavor. A lot more than my last post on this site.  Let's review.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I started my weight loss program in December 2006.  I weighed 320 lbs.  I was able to lose 70 pounds before settling in at 258-262...which I held for two years before slowing gaining weight back to 290 or so.  I've held at 290 for about two to three months before I decided to try something new.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This new program, which I'll share more about later (if it works), has you eat anything and everything for two days straight before beginning the program...which promises a weight loss of one to two pounds a day for three to six weeks. Makes me think its beginning to work again.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I've switch flavors of protein to Mint Chocolate Chip.  It tastes just like the old Kemps Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream.  Which was my favorite flavor of ice cream growing up. A gain from the previous day.  One thing I've learn and I hope I will continue to learn from is the importance of weighing every day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I know if you read old posts there are times I comment on not weighing every day because of being demotivated.  I know that can happened.  Right now if I don't see a decrease in my weight I'm going to be disappointed.  I think seeing my weight everyday will help in keeping me focused.  I lost that focus since Christmas and I think it played  a role in my recent weight gain.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have a Nutritionist as my guest on Friday's talk show. Down one pound since yesterday and three pounds since last Thursday.  I got home late yesterday and didn't get my Bender Bottles cleaned so I'm having a fast food breakfast, a shake for lunch and hoping to have a light dinner or maybe even a shake.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I promised my two youngest boys that I would take them to the park tonight.  That should allow for a decent workout if I can make sure I'm up playing with them versus sitting and watching them play. The big post about the renewing of the weight loss effort.  Here it goes again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm well aware that I haven't been doing as well as I should.  Last Thursday I held a Senior Living Expo through the radio station I manage.  One of the sponsor's was NuCommunity Nutrition.  NuCommunity did a metabolism scan/work up for me.  As part of the information they needed, I did a weigh in.  I weighed 175 pounds.  That's 13 more than the weight of 162 I held steady with for several months and disappointing to see.  I wasn't surprised, just disappointed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I begin again.  This particular time I'm going to commit to weighing everyday and announcing my daily weight here, on this site.  This morning I weighed 173.  Two pounds less than last Thursday.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On Sunday night I started with my cleansing program.  I'm using 7 Day Cleanse.  Instead of taking their packets three times daily, I'm taking the packets once a day for three weeks.  It will take about 4 to 5 days to kick in.  During the cleansing I'm going to hold true to protein shakes daily for breakfast and lunch (which I've been doing anyway) and a 'reasonable' dinner with no snacking...or very little snacking.  I will drink some water when needed due to outdoor activity. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My hope is I will lose some weight immediately.  Something like 3-5 pounds within the first week or two. I don't post as often as I should.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Two things happened recently.  One is I was sick and had to go to the doctor to get meds.  I stepped on the scale and was the heaviest I had been in more than a year.  I weighed in at 278.  Which is 16 pounds heavier than the last time I weighed in at the doctors.  Not good.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The second thing is someone mentioned yesterday that it looks like I have lost some weight.  Which makes me wonder if I was even heavier than the 278 at the doctors office.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So here I am...needing to get serious again and wondering what I should or need to focus on.  I still do my shakes for breakfast and lunch most days, but not all.  I do believe it is a combination of  not sticking to my program, not being as active and snacking too much on weekends and evenings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm not sure where we stand right now.  I do know this...I can't go back to being so fat.  I don't want to feel the way I used to when I was way over 300 pounds. Cookies and Cream.  While the over all flavor is okay, it is much better made with milk that with water.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I hadn't wanted to buy the new flavor but when I went to the local GNC, they only had one tub of chocolate and I always buy two tubs.  One tub is $60 with the second being half price and with my gold card membership from GNC if I buy the first week of the month I save 20 percent.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With only having one tub of chocolate I decided to try the cookies and cream.  I've had Maximum Protein's strawberry and feel it is too sweat and the vanilla is only okay.  The chocolate is the best way to go because my wife likes and so do the kids.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm still not doing as well with my program as I would like.  I just can't seem to hold off on opportunities to eat food I shouldn't.  It really hasn't been a problem for two years and now it just takes over a couple of days a week. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I notice I'm more likely to snack when I'm by my self or no one is in the room or house with me or when there is more snack type foods in the house than normally. I think getting on &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;Facebook&lt;/span&gt; and my kids playing basketball and one in dance has split my time into too many different directions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm holding steady...no weight gained, no weight lost.  I am hopeful that the weight loss will begin again soon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Currently I'm gearing up for another body cleanse and I'm considering changing flavors of shake mix.  Maximum Protein now has a forth flavor. No weight gained, no weight lost.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While this isn't bad news, it isn't good either.  I really want to start seeing more results for the efforts and I'm beginning to get frustrated.  I know the key is to not give up and keep plugging away. I weighed 262 on New Years Day.  Which is good considering I ate a little too much New Year's Eve.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I really feel as if I'm ready for another weight loss to start 2009.  I began my original weight loss efforts (serious efforts) on December 18&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; 2006.  I was able to go from 320 to 262 in about a year and a half.  Since then I have gained up to 270 and at one time was 255.  I settled in between 265-270.  I want to next settle in between 240 and 250.  The main thing is being below 250 and holding below 250.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I started New Year's Day with a shake for breakfast and lunch and I'm doing the same thing today and tomorrow.  I plan to keep with my plan and be stricter on myself than I was during 2008.  I will eat a normal meal (at least not shakes) for dinner and continue to cut back on most if not all snacking.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I will relax those efforts on Sundays, as I did in the past, and try and get a little more workouts in.  While I don't have a gym or a club to go to, I will try and do more walking and being more active. Weighed 262.  That's the weight I was hoping to hold at and wasn't able to.  I'm hopeful that I'm now back on track with my weight loss. It is currently a 'parked' page, which means it is full of links to weight loss sites and programs.  At the bottom of the page is my personal story.  The new &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;DietTestimonials&lt;/span&gt;.com will be a site to share stories.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My plan is to start with my story of weighing 320 pounds and dropping down to 260 pounds.  I'll include before and after pictures and my program that worked well.  It will include links to purchase products that I used and other information to hopefully help others lose weight.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After the launch of the site I will ask others I know that have lost weight to share their story on the site.  I will attempt to get before and after pictures of each person that shares a story. The new tradition needs to be Christmas Weight Loss.  I need to devise a plan to enjoy all the wonderful, yet high calorie, treats without worring about adding five or more pounds over Christmas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We did Christmas at my inlaw's house yesterday.  I think I did good over all but there was monkey bread and I love monkey bread.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So far today has been good with only my shake for breakfast and for lunch.  Hopefully dinner will be easy to get through and I'll try and hold off on major snacking.  I think Christmas day will be easier this year because it will be just me and my immediate family.  We're not going anywhere and no one is coming to visit. A mean really hungry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm hoping this is a sign that the rebirth of my weight loss program is working and not that I'm not eating enough later in the day.  Because I feel my biggest weakness is eating late in the day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The program is going okay. I decided to not do protein shakes over this past weekend due to the play and my parents being in town. While I've done better lately, I still find my focus not what it needs to be.  I'm not craving as much and I'm not as hungry...but when I do eat, I'm tending to eat a little more than I should.  Almost like I'm feeling guilty for letting food go to waste.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Reminds me of requesting a child clear their plate before having dessert.  If they've eaten some of the meal, you know, the good stuff, there no point in making them finish a full meal before getting dessert.  I think that promotes over eating.  I don't think one should have to eat too much food just to get the dessert.  The reward needs to be having eaten the health portion of the meal, or at least part of it, to get to dessert.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Recently my 4 year-old only wants to eat peanut butter sandwiches.  It has protein and isn't bad.  He also will eat banana for snacks with no problems and likes oatmeal. A pound heavier than yesterday. I had a meeting for the Nutcracker this morning, a live broadcast from the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;Oconee&lt;/span&gt; Heritage Center from 2-4 and then we're broadcasting the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Walhalla&lt;/span&gt; Christmas parade at 5:00. That's what is happening.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I think part of my recent weight gain might be the fact I have been drinking a lot more Coke Zero and sugar free pink &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;lemonade&lt;/span&gt;.  A lot of liquid.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Last night when I got home from work the boys and I had peanut butter sandwiches and milk.  The we headed to basketball practice.  When we got home and the boys got into bed I had one more peanut butter sandwich.  Not that I was hungry, I was more worried that a peanut butter sandwich wouldn't last from 5pm till 8am (when I normally have my breakfast shake.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway...it feels good to have the scale finally show a number I feel good about.  I don't believe I can ever feel good about the scale saying I weight more than 270. I remember dropping down to 260 several months ago and telling myself I would never be above 270 again.  Then it happened.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The interesting thing is the weight loss was not the hard part...the maintaining was.  It was slow at first.  I would only do one shake a day instead of two.  Mostly because there was some reason to have lunch &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;with&lt;/span&gt; a client or employee.  I would tell myself I would just have a shake at dinner instead of what ever we were having as a family.  Being that my wife is a great cook and I believe in eating as a family as often as possible, I ended up eating a dinner as well and telling myself...it's okay, it's just this once.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Just this once happened to often.  And all of a sudden I was heavier than I needed to be again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I really want to get down below 250 and hopefully get to 220.  That would be 100 pounds from my known all time high weight.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I'm back hard core on my protein shakes, with water, twice a day and no snacking and a very reasonable dinner.  With it being the holidays, there are a lot of temptations. It is amazing to me how much more effective &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; Blast is compared to other forms of &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; I've taken.  It's almost like I can feel it working.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was able to go through the day with only my breakfast and lunch shake and wasn't even hungry at dinner.  I had to make something for the kids and made chicken and rice.   I had one small serving and that was it.  I did have a Coke Zero tonight because I felt I needed a &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;caffeine&lt;/span&gt; kick after a long day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I haven't been able to find &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; Blast anywhere other than the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;GNC&lt;/span&gt; in Spencer, IA.  I bought a four month supply, so while it is a bit pricey, I won't have to worry about buying more till March.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The thing I like about &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; Blast is not only am I not hungry, I have no desire to drink a soda or water during the day.  The 16 ounces of water I make my shakes with is more than enough water for my system. Aches and pains and a fever.  Finally began feeling better Tuesday night.  When I started feeling better, my appetite came back.  Anything gained (or lost) due to not having an appetite over the course of being sick was gained back on Tuesday night.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I did not weigh this morning but I could tell when I got dressed that my pants were looser and that my belt needed one more hole than normal.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; Blast is here and I started taking it again this morning.  So much more of a noticeable difference versus other brands/kinds of &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt;.  I like it.  I like not feeling hungry and something that helps me with the cravings.  I bought a 4 month supply. I do believe that if I go hard core again...with no snacking and only one regular meal a day with my protein shakes twice a day, I'll drop quickly.  I just don't know if my mind set is to the point for going hard core weight loss right now.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I watched the biggest loser on NBC yesterday.  I haven't ever watched a lot of that show.  Seeing people's weight loss on the show is amazing. Mostly because I haven't been doing very good.  My weight has increased to 272.  I was holding steady at 262 for several months.  I'm tending to snack more, and to just have regular meals and not my protein like I should.  So today I decided to go back to &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; Blast to fix my cravings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've been only able to find &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; Blast at the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;GNC&lt;/span&gt; store in Spencer, IA.  I've looked else where and bought other types of &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; but nothing works like &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; Blast.  So &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; Blast is it.  I bought a four month supply.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I also got more protein.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I know its the holiday season and not the best time to 'start all over again' but I've been playing this game a lot lately and just like it was in December 2006 when I weighed 320 pounds, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;knows&lt;/span&gt; the time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;apologize&lt;/span&gt; ahead of time to my mother in-law who is making a special dessert for my on Thanksgiving.  She's making a Blackberry Cobbler.  Anyone who really knows me knows I love Blackberries and love cobbler.  Maybe there's time to see if she'll make it a diet cobbler.  We'll have to see.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First goal is to get back to 262.  Then to 260.  The to 250. I was able to hold off on eating any snacks through the course of the evening.  That's been my biggest hurrdle...snacking in the evening.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I still haven't stepped on the scale since end of last week.  I'm trying to decide if I need to step on the scale daily or weekly. I've been using milk with my protein shakes lately and I have been chewing less gum.  That will change today.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The milk close to doubles the calories in a protein shake, so back to making them with water today.  Chewing gum is one thing I did to keep from snacking.  I will buy lots of gum today so I can have some in each vehicle, at work and at home.  I will also begin taking &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; again.  That helps with the cravings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I wold like to get down to 250 by Christmas.  I know I can do it.  It will also increase my &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;wardrobe&lt;/span&gt; because I have several pants and shirts that almost fit, but don't right now. I've gained only a couple of pounds.  I've been fluxing between 265 and 270.  I'd rather be between 255-262, where I was for most of the past year.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway...I haven't been wearing certain clothes because I have assumed they wouldn't fit because of the slight weight gain.  My wife said I should try a pair of jeans Sunday that I hadn't worn since buying them several months ago.  I bought them with the idea I was losing weight and they would fit soon. It was good training and I always feel the training we receive is a great way to get motivated for the upcoming season.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The guy that did the training talked briefly about weight loss.  I forget why this even came up...but as I have my weight loss program I work and I operate &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;DietTestimonials&lt;/span&gt; website, I always perk up when hearing someone talk about weight loss.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;He suggested what worked for him and that is picking what ever is your favorite food and gorging yourself with that food.  Eat so much so you become sick. While thinking about all this I realized I was not following one of the key parts that had helped me lose weight in the past.  I was not taking my &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; regularly and when I have taken &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; I have not been taking the brand that has worked best for me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I will order &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; Blast from my friend Troy who owns a &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;GNC&lt;/span&gt; in Spencer, IA.  I have never seen or found &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;Hoodia&lt;/span&gt; Blast anywhere other than his store.  It worked wonders with my cravings in the past and I'm sure will work wonders again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My wife pointed out recently that I have been staying up pretty late every night.  I need to go to bed when she does.  I remember reading something one day about getting more sleep aids weight loss.  Your body apparently stores more when you don't get enough sleep for some reason. Not the case.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After not stepping on the scale for several weeks, mostly because I was scared I would be much heavier than where I think I should be, I weighed 267.  Okay, I know that's 7 pounds more than where I need to be and 17 pounds more than where I want to be but it is not as bad as what I thought I would weigh.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have been snacking and eating more than I should.  I still have my protein shakes for breakfast and lunch.  I still do well most of the time...but when the weekend gets here and late night snacking...as been my downfall.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm really trying to get to a point of starting over...doing the whole weight loss thing again...with as much focus and energy I did when I started at 320 pounds a couple of years ago. Instead of continuing my weight loss from 2006 maybe I need to consider that one done and make a fresh start.  I like it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I began my weight loss effort in December of 2006 and was able to lose 60 pounds.  My weight is now 260 (give or take) and I would like to weigh 230 or less.  I've been holding steady for almost a year now.  Which is good.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have been struggling lately with snacking too much.  I've put on a couple of pound and I notice my double X shirts aren't as roomy as they once were.  So the weight battle continues.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm starting over.  A new me and a new goal.  I have learned some thing recently.  I haven't been taking my Hoodia regularly.  And I now believe that has made a difference. I haven't been doing well at all.  I've gained about 5 pounds and seem to have hit a wall.  Snacking way too much in the evenings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After purchasing a body cleansing product a month ago...I've started the body cleansing full force this week.  I hopefully will be able to hold off on the snacking.  It seems to only be at night...after dinner, after the kids go to bed and before I go to bed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I feel okay that I've only put on a couple of pounds.  I am disappointed that I have not been losing any weight this summer.  My goal had been to lose another 30 pounds. I had dropped several pounds following the South Carolina Disc Golf Doubles State Championship.  Probable from all the work cleaning the courses and playing 36 holes of disc golf in a weekend.  The little bit of weight I lost was back on right away the next couple of days.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm planning on spending more time with the kids playing at the park now that I won't be traveling to mountains as much and trying to walk for half an hour to an hour each night.  Just through the neighborhood.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I think I've been doing decently well on the diet part of my plan...I've just no t been as active as I need to be.  I still want to get down to 230. I'm back to updating regularly again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have been holding steady for the most part between a low of 257 and a high of 263 over the past several weeks.  I over ate tonight.  It was boys night and we made muffins, there was pudding and we were having a fun time...that meant eating too much for all of the boys.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now that I'm one week away from traveling to the mountains three days a week and the tournament I was hosting is over, I can become more focused on the task at hand...losing more weight.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I want to be 230 by the end of summer.  I think that goal will now become losing 30 pounds by December.  It isn't safe.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I plan to run (MTAs) two days a week and to walk to more business during the day.  Versus driving all the time.  It will safe on gas and on the waist line.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have a new site coming soon.  This blog will soon be on DietTestimonials(dot)com. That was a really good weigh in for the late afternoon/night time weigh in.  I had looked forward to stepping on the scale this morning being that my morning weight is normally less than my pervious night's weight.  Not so today.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I stepped on the scale this morning and the scale said 266.  Which is much higher than I expected and I lot higher than I was hoping for. I will now take the cleansing product once a day for 21 days.  The product is simply called 7-Day Cleanse.  It is designed to take three times a day.  I take it once a day for three weeks instead of three times a day for one week.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I like to take it between 8-10 at night.  It gives it time to work over night.  If I take it earlier in the day I tend to end up waking up in the middle of the night with stomach cramps.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway...I'm now fully committed to being back on track with my weight loss.  With today being the first 'real' day of only doing protein shakes with no snacking at all and one light meal a day.  Guess what happened?  I ended up needing to interview a potential new employee and because we have such a small station where I work, I ended up doing the interview over lunch.  So tonight's meal will be a shake.  All ready made.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Being this is the beginning of summer and my pledge to myself was to lose 30 pounds by the end of summer, I figured I had to get serious.  When I weighed Friday night I was 262...the weight I had been holding steady at for several months.  That makes my goal to reach 232 by September.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That should get me into a &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;Xlarge&lt;/span&gt; shirt and 42 inch waisted jeans and pants by then. I'm out of Hoodia.  I haven't done a full body cleansing in more than 1 year.  It shows.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have been trying to eat regularly these past couple of days without my protein.  I forgot to buy my protein the first week of the month.  The first week of the month I get 10 pounds of protein for $76.  The rest of the month the cost is $90.  I remembered that my GNC guy in Spencer, Iowa, had told me he would meet the price I got anywhere else on the same product. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I called Troy this week and ordered protein.  It should be arriving this weekend.  I also ordered the Full Body Cleansing formula that worked so well for me while living in Iowa.  It was also good to talk with the one that got me set up on my plan that allowed me to lose 60 pounds in a years time.  Always good to talk with someone that understands and is knowledgeable about weight loss and health issues.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I will struggle along with no shakes until my supply gets here.  Once I get going again I am going to do the full body cleanse.  When I've done the full body cleanse in the past it has started the weight loss in a good, strong way. While I've been holding steady for several months now, I can't seem to kick start the weight loss like I need to.  So today I ordered a seven day body cleansing product I used when I lived in Iowa.  I had to call my guy in Spencer, Iowa...since I can't find that product anywhere in South Carolina or Western North Carolina.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When I did the body cleanse before...it always helped kick start another weight loss.  Hopefully the same will happen this time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm still doing the shakes for breakfast everyday and most of the time for lunch.  I'm back to only snacking on fruits and veggies and eating a smaller meal at dinner time. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I really want to be at 230 by the end of summer.  Right now I weigh 262.  Same as I weighed last October. On the scale for the 'official' weigh in I weighed 262.  I weighed 262 fully clothed with three sets of keys in my pocket, three dollars in quarters in my pocket, cell phone on my hip and some other knickknacks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That was also shortly after finishing my morning 16 ounce protein shake. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For me, this was encouraging on a couple of levels.  It was my lowest weigh in at a doctor's office on a professional scale in years, I was carrying in my pockets several pounds of stuff and I was fully clothed.  Makes me believe that I am doing better than the scale at home has been telling me lately.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This morning when I woke up my scale said I was 264, which was six pounds heavier than when I went to bed last night. The only extra was some banana chips last night. I did well with a small serving to start, a second serving of carrots and two dinner rolls.  I drank sugar free lemonade as a snack that was it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then I found myself waking up several times over the course of the night.  At 2:00 in the morning I ate one more dinner roll.  I'm not sure why I didn't sleep well last night but I know I will probable sleep well tonight.  At least I hope I sleep well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The good news is the scale was very kind to me this morning at 259.  With me spending today in the mountains and purposely bringing no additional cash I will be doing my protein shake for breakfast, lunch and dinner today and breakfast  and lunch tomorrow. Let me explain.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When I began my weight loss program in December 2006, we were living in Iowa and most every night we had dinner as a family around the table.  We would talk about things going on at work, at home and at school.  Engaging our children in conversation.  We were eating well balanced meals.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When we moved to South Carolina in 2007, we still ate as a family but we ended up eating with the boys around the coffee table and my wife and I sitting on the couch and &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;loveseat&lt;/span&gt;.  And we would have Wheel of Fortune or &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Jeopardy&lt;/span&gt; on the TV.  While the meals were balanced, I think I tended to pay less &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;attention&lt;/span&gt; to my kids than I was when we lived in Iowa.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With the new house we are back to dinner at the table as a family.   Saying grace before each meal and talking as a family.  No TV on, no distractions. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I believe this style of family dinning will be good as I renew my focus to my weight loss.  I think I will find it easier to have smaller portions and less per serving when serving in front of the family versus serving myself in the kitchen and carrying it to the living room.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm also going to be back to not drinking soft drinks.  I've been drinking Coke Zero and diet Dr. Pepper.  But no more.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While I was in the midst of losing 60+ pounds I was working more program much better than I have been lately.  For those that are new to my weight loss blog, the program is as follows...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One protein shake (two scoops of Maximum Protein with 16 ounces of water) for breakfast, one protein shake for lunch, whatever we prepare for my family is what I will eat for dinner.  I have a smaller portion than I would have eaten in the past, I drink milk or water and no seconds.  I also don't snack (if I do, veggies and fruit).  On the weekends I make my Saturday morning shake with milk instead of water and share with my kids.  On Sundays, I eat a regular breakfast and lunch.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The above program helped my lose 60 pounds between December 2006 and October 2007.  It was in October 2007 that I started maintaining and stopped losing. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I also step on the scale everyday.  I weighed 262 this morning.  I recently was as low at 258 one night last week.  I find weighing everyday is the best way to keep weight down or in control.  The scale is a great &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;motivator&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm also going to be work on a new site...Diet Testimonials (dot com).  It is already online as a parking site.  It will one day be a site where people losing weight will be able to share their stories to their success.
