Stretch Run

That's where I am. At the stretch run. My one year anniversary of my program to lose weight and to become healthier will be one year old on the 18th of December. And while the past year has been successful, the recent month or two have been stagnant.

Now that I face the winter months I need to reevaluate what I'm doing to lose weight and keep weight off. When I started last year I joined the local wellness center where we lived and was working out several times a week. Once we moved to South Carolina I was playing disc golf at least once a week and was outside with the kids several nights every week running and playing with them. Now that it is almost dark when I get home from work and there is less time playing hard outside, I need to make sure I don't let these circumstances allow the weight to slowly creep back on.

Now the focus is different than when I started. I'm not as focused but that tends to happen with any program. So today I am going to go and play in a disc golf doubles league. And while I won't be able to do this every Sunday through the winter, at least I can do a couple of Sundays and on some Saturdays I'll get the kids out in the yard.

I believe I'll battle through this and that I'll come out on the far side of winter better than the short side of winter.
