Today is the first actual cold day in Upstate South Carolina. And I realized this morning that while I was raised in Minnesota and spent last winter in Iowa I'm not mentally prepared for cold weather.
And you ask; "What's that got to do with weight loss?" Here's what its got to do with it...I don't want to allow myself to think; "I need to bulk up for the winter." I remember in the past making sure I had two helpings of oatmeal because I needed to bulk up. Because it would give me more energy to burn to help keep warm.
Now I know it's not nearly as cold here as it will be in Minnesota and Iowa. But to adjust to your surroundings. That's the way it works. So I fin myself in a position to have to keep telling myself that what I'm doing is working and if I'm in a situation that requires extra energy I will deal with it then instead of trying to predict and 'get ready' for the cold with bulking up.
I hope this makes sense. Just sharing feeling.
