Yesterday was my day. The day I slipped and I'm now paying the price.
As cold as it was I decided to go to Perkins to eat. When I've done this before I've had a muffin with a glass of milk. Yesterday I ordered a french dip with fries. And then I ended up drinking my shake that afternoon. I got home and had warmed up food from the night before and finished the day with some cereal and pasta salad. Needless to say, I really bad day.
Then this morning I felt awful. Stomach hurt and I ended up in the bathroom for a good 20 minutes. After getting everything out of my system, I had my normal shake this morning. And I think I will be much better.
On the positive side, this is the first real skip since beginning my program in December. If I slip once every six to eight weeks, that won't be too bad.

I like to think of these things as gentle....or maybe not so gentle...reminders on our journey..good job for getting back on track.....did you ever walk the railroad tracks?
I don't understand the question about walking the railroad tracks...
it was a reference to what we have to focus on when we walk the rr tracks......you have to keep your mind on what you are doing because it is like a tightrope in some sense.....if you take your mind off it you slip......it is not a big fall when you slip off and it is a matter of taking a small step back up to get back on track...gosh..i walked the rr tracks as a girl..i can feel it now as i write about it...it is just an image i think of when i think of getting back on track in my life.......
Hmm...interesting. How is it that I still learn things from you (m)? Anyway, even though you slipped, it sounds like you slipped better than you used to eat - so not too bad. I didn't follow my program at all this weekend. I was hungry on Fri night, and on Sat we did a little more birthday celebration. We had a great weekend, which was really nice and much needed. I am ready to be back on track though. It is good to feel that the new, better eating plan is now "normal" and the overeating, bad foods is the exception. At least that corner has been turned!
I know I gained weight over the weekend. Not eating well on Friday and snacking during the game on Sunday.
