Seeing VS Feeling results

Weight loss is not easy. I try to focus on a couple of things to keep me going. One thing is not to look for instant gratification. I think having the world at our finger tips...with the Internet, TV on demand, commercial free radio and cell phones and blackberries have made us demand and expect immediate results in all that we do. But we do not, ourselves, run on go...at least not all the time.

So when it comes to weight loss I try and look toward the future and I don't expect to see results tomorrow for something that I began today but I hope that in a year or two or three I'm not still hoping to lose the weight I've gained over the years.

I've wavered between different things to keep me focused. One of those is to step on the scale as often as possible. That means every night before bed and each morning when I get out of bed. Weighing everyday allows me to see if what I'm doing is working and it also allows me to see if I've over done it with dinner or the overall snacking (which is where it is easiest to slip.)

Also I pay attention to how my clothes fit and where my belt is set. Which hole am I using?

I think the main reason I have continued to lose and will continue is my diet. I continue to have two protein shakes a day, take my Hoodia and limit myself. One note on limiting myself...I have not done as well lately but because I weigh everyday I am able to know when to knock it off and refocus my efforts. And believe me...if I can do it, so can you.

I agree with the instant gratification ad.......we do want to see a change and see it soon if not immediately...it is great to see pictures of you side by side from before and after...the change in your appearance and your level of happiness and personal satisfaction jump out and really are walking ads for your program...

I love that you are doing this blog. It keeps you accountable and it really is inspirational for those of us out there who know we should be doing it too. Change is slow to come, but will come nonetheless.
