We make Pop Cake at home as a regular low calories, low fat alternative. And it works great and most can't taste a difference. Anyway I was looking at somethings online and it appears that you can purchase any type of cake mix (regular or low sugar) and substitute all of the added ingredients for any type of regular soda or diet soda.
We like to use the Zero products by Coke. Coke Zero and/or Sprite Zero. So you can mix and match. I saw one site that used a diet cream soda with a vanilla cake mix. And another used strawberry soda with a red velvet cake mix.
So for you calorie counters who love sweats, the way to make the cake is below.
1 box cake mix (any kind/flavor)1 can of diet pop (any kind-Pepsi, Coke, Dr. Pepper, etc)
