Another day away from posting. I apologize to my regular readers. I have a new site I'm working on for my weight loss blog that will categorize past posts and have several links for all kinds on weight loss information. That way new readers and current readers will have the option of always finding useful information.
The Holidays left me wishing I had held back on some of the snacking but not disappointed because I'm any heavier now than before the holidays. I just didn't lose any weight. And I tend to wonder if I hadn't snacked and enjoy the food over Christmas so much, where would I be now?
With the new year upon us a lot of people will stat making resolutions for the new year around weight loss. And I one time did the same. I think we need to move away from making a resolution and focus on goal setting. And when you goal set for weight loss instead of saying I want to lose x number of pounds in 2008, maybe set a goal like I want to be this weight by this date and this lower weight by a later date. Set mini goals through the year instead of one really big goal.
Right now I weigh 260 pounds. My overall goal is to get to 220 pounds. My first goal is to get to 250, then 240, then 230 and then 220. And I also have other goals that relate to weight loss like wearing size 44 pants everyday. My jeans are sized 44 but the pants I wear regularly are 46. I want to wear my size 42 shorts this summer. That gives me six months to reach that goal. And that is something I know I can accomplish.
Other goals include having to buy a new belt because the one I have now is too small. I also want to have to get my ring resized. Which means it needs to be loose even with the ring guard I needed recently.
I still believe that weight loss is something that if I'm able to do it, so are you. Good Luck!

I will look forward to seeing the new blog ad.....and I think the idea of smaller goals might keep a person encouraged...we live in an age of instant gratification and a year is an awful long time to work to meet a goal..I love the idea of celebrating an achieved smaller goal more often..then REALLY celebrating when you achieve the year's overall goal..
