My wife has been doing lots of things to help me maintain my weight loss program. And one of the things she has done is discover a way to make a low calorie cake that no one has been able to taste a difference between it and the real thing.
In fact my 11 year-old son was adamant he didn't want "pop cake" for his birthday. And my wife made it anyway and he couldn't tell the difference. And when my parents and friend Joe came to visit last month they were unable to tell the difference between the reduced sugar 'pop cake' and regular cake.
So here's the low calorie 'pop cake' so you dieters can now have your cake and eat it too...
1 Box of Reduced Sugar Cake Mix (we buy Pillsbury)
12 ounce can of Sprite Zero
1 canister of reduced sugar cake frosting (Pillsbury)
Mix the cake mix with the entire can of Sprite Zero. Do not add eggs, oil or water that the typical cake mix calls for. The Sprite Zero takes the place of everything you would normally add to the cake mix.
Bake as directed on the box, add frosting and voila, a low calorie substitute that nobody will think is anything other than a normal, sugar filled cake.
We have been doing Yellow Cake with our 'pop cake' and coming soon we will be doing a chocolate 'pop cake' with Coke Zero. Stay tuned...
