For those that don't know the story...here it is...
I stepped on the scale in December of 2006 and I was shocked to see I weighed 320 pounds. I know I hadn't been doing well at all in the way I was living my life with the my dietary habits. And I know I had gained some weight...but 320 pounds? And then as I've looked back through pictures I know I was even heavier in the months before I stepped on the scale.
So what I did was consult with my friend Troy who owns GNC store and he suggested a Whey Protein shake twice a day while taking a daily vitamin and Hoodia Blast to help with the cravings. I also started doing a moderate workout two to three times per week. To be safe I checked with my doctor and he signed off on the program with the understanding that I was taking vitamins and I was eating at least one regular meal a day.
Since I started on December 18th, 2006 I have lost 58 pounds and the lowest I've weighed has been 252. Currently I weigh 262.
I weigh most every day and usually twice per day (morning and night) because that is the biggest motivator is seeing my weight and knowing that I don't want to be that heavy again.
I've used all kinds of things to track my progress (more than weighing everyday. Such as how loose my clothes fit, having to purchase a new belt, sport coats drowning me and listening for comments from others.
One of the best things keeping me focused has been blogging about my weight loss and telling my story.
When someone I know asks me what I've been doing I make sure to always tell them where I started out weight wise and where I'm at now. They'll continue to ask and want updates. That alone makes it easier to stay focused.
I know some people may be embarrassed to share their weight with the world. I didn't feel comfortable saying out loud how fat I had allowed myself to become. But I faced a lot of truths...people could look at me and see I was fat so why should I be ashamed to tell them how much I weigh?
Up in the upper right hand corner of this blog is a picture taken in October 2007. Compare that to this photo of me taken in the summer of 2006...as you can see I have lost quite a lot of weight since the summer of 2006. And I believe I was heavier in Summer of 2006 than I was when I began my weight loss program in December 2006.
The other day I was looking through photos and was amazed at how fat I was at different times over the past five to 10 years.
The good news is this program with my Whey Protein and Vitamins and Hoodia has worked so well that I know I'll have no problem keeping the weight off. That does mean that I will continue to have protein shakes for at least one meal per day if not two meals a day and I will continue to use Hoodia to keep the cravings away.
Thanks for you support.

I applaud how open and honest you are being... with yourself and with others. That's hard to do.
Good for you. I understand when you say people can see you, so why not tell them what you weight. I'm not there yet. My husband and I don't discuss numbers. How much we've lost, yes. How much we weigh, no. Good good good for you.
