Have to eats?

It's hard to focus on losing weight when every time you get together with someone for any reason it seems to be around eating. We're getting together with some old friends over the Christmas holiday and guess what? We're getting together over a meal. Which is fine. I just keep on wondering why that is?

Anytime we get together with anyone it seems to be over dinner or lunch or something the revolves around food. And eating at restaurants makes it harder to lose weight because their portions are always so much bigger than they need to be. And when you're raised or you feel the need to 'clean your plate' it can lead to more calories than needed.

There's a chance I will be eating today's lunch with a friend. And I will attempt to order salad and a diet soft drink. This friend always wants to order an before meal appetizer of cheese sticks or fried tomatoes or something that just adds more calories than either of us need.

I need to see if I can start getting people together without having to eat be part of the reason we're together. It might take some arm twisting. We'll see how it goes.

That is hard, isn't it? Perhaps getting together for coffee (or tea, or a diet soda or whatever) would work as well.

we sure have to live consciously don't we?

if we go on automatic pilot before we know it the calories are as plentiful as the talk and laughter..
