Health Screening

I had some health screening done today during a health fair and senior expo put on by the radio stations I work with in North Carolina. All looks good except my bone density. I rated a negative 1.1, which means I may have the beginnings of osteoporosis.

My plan, other than to start making shakes with milk more often than with water is to buy Vitamin D supplements and calcium supplements.

To be 38 years old and hear this was not the best news of the day. They lady that was doing the screenings said that most osteoporosis is hereditary. I know my grandma on my Dad's side of the family suffered from it by I'm unsure if anyone else has.

Either way...some changes are going to have to be made.

wow. Do you remember how they tested for that? I suppose it's something I should look into.

Wow. That is a big deal. I had a health screening a little while ago, but I don't remember if they did a bone density test or not. How was that done?

They test by doing something to your heal. Hard to explain...
